1. About These Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between Balefire Kent ("we," "us," "our") and any individual or organisation ("client," "you") who engages our electrical services. By booking a service visit or accepting a quotation from us, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia and are subject to the jurisdiction of Malaysian courts.

2. Services Offered

Balefire Kent provides the following electrical services to residential and commercial properties in the Penang region:

All services are carried out in accordance with applicable Malaysian standards, including MS IEC 60364. The scope of each engagement is agreed at the point of booking and confirmed in writing.

3. Bookings and Confirmations

A booking is considered confirmed when we have sent written confirmation (by email or message) of the agreed date, time, service type, and address. We do not consider verbal arrangements binding until confirmed in writing.

We operate Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. We do not offer visits on Sundays or Malaysian public holidays unless specifically arranged.

Confirmed bookings are subject to reasonable availability. In the unlikely event that we must reschedule a confirmed booking, we will notify you with as much notice as possible and offer an alternative date at no additional cost.

4. Fees and Payment

Service fees are as set out on our Solutions page and as quoted at the time of booking. All fees are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

Payment is due upon completion of the service unless a prior arrangement has been made in writing. We accept payment by bank transfer. Invoices are issued at the close of each visit and payment is expected within five business days of invoice receipt.

For larger works or multi-session engagements, a deposit may be requested before work begins. This will be stated clearly in the written quotation.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We understand that circumstances change. Our policy is as follows:

Rescheduling requests are welcomed and will be accommodated based on availability. Repeated last-minute cancellations may affect our ability to hold preferred slots for future bookings.

6. Access and Client Responsibilities

To carry out the agreed work, you agree to:

We are not responsible for delays or incomplete work arising from restricted access or undisclosed hazards discovered on-site. In such cases, the agreed fee may still apply, and a revisit may need to be arranged.

7. Scope of Work and Limitations

Our assessments and visit reports cover visible and accessible elements of the electrical installation. We do not open walls, disturb structural elements, or access concealed wiring unless specifically agreed and scoped in advance.

Visit reports reflect conditions observed at the time of the visit. They do not constitute a certification of compliance or a full structural survey. Findings are provided in good faith based on the accessible evidence available.

Where component replacement or additional remediation work is identified during a visit, this will be discussed with you and must be separately agreed before proceeding. We do not carry out additional work beyond the booked scope without your explicit consent.

8. Client-Supplied Materials

For lighting and fitting installations, clients are welcome to supply their own fixtures, including antique, imported, or specialist items. When client-supplied materials are used:

9. Liability

Balefire Kent takes reasonable care in all work carried out. Our liability is limited as follows:

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Intellectual Property

Written visit reports and documentation produced by Balefire Kent are provided for the personal use of the commissioning client. They may not be reproduced, resold, or attributed to any other party without our consent. The contents of this website, including text, design elements, and structure, are the property of Balefire Kent.

11. Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, we ask that you contact us within 14 days of the visit or installation in question. We will acknowledge your concern within three business days and aim to resolve it within 14 business days.

Complaints may be directed to: [email protected] or by post to our address below. We take all feedback seriously and use it to improve our practice.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or to the services provided shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of booking applies to that booking. Material changes will be communicated to clients with active engagements. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
